Emily de Molly On Edge

I hope that you had a wonderful Christmas and that you enjoy your upcoming New Year celebrations!  I, and my family, have been sick since before Christmas so here's to praying that we'll be able to celebrate the new year in health.  :)
Just a quickie today: Emily de Molly On Edge.  On Edge is a holographic chameleon; she's grayish green; she's blue; she even leans a bit silver.  Whatever she is, she is gorgeous and she applied like buttah. ;)  I did two coats I believe, and one coat of topcoat, which did not diminish the holo.

I must admit this Emily de Molly holo has me hooked (unlike her glitter creations).  I can't wait to try more!

Elevation Malaspina Glacier and I Got the Axe

Merry Christmas!
I highly doubt anyone is sitting around reading blogs tonight, but, then again, you never know. You might need a little 'me time' break from all the festivities.  I know I will.  :)
I love these two colours together, chartreuse and aqua.  So fresh and clean, unlike the weather outside.
Both Elevation Malaspina Glacier and I Got the Axe applied nicely in two coats; I was expecting to do a third coat, but didn't need to, surprisingly.  Two accent nails of Enchanted Seven Nation Army and a coat of Wicked Fast and this beauty was finished.
Just like Zoya Yara, I sold my first bottle of EP 7NA because I was unimpressed with my quick one-coat swatch on bare nails.  Little did I know that this beauty really shines (literally and figuratively) over brights and neutrals.  I love it and can see it decorating many manis in the future.

Isn't that holo shimmer wonderful when mixed with black and white glitter?
I hope your holiday is full of family, friends and delicious food.  :)

Colors by Llarowe skittles

I wore this Colors by Llarowe skittle mani a while ago and I think I'll do it again.  I love the colour progression and, of course, the amazing holo shine!  The polishes applied like butter in two coats and though unnecessary, one coat of topcoat did not diminish the holo halos (am I using that term correctly?).  CbLs are definitely worth the price, unlike certain other holo brands.
I am definitely a fan of these polishes and I even have a CbL cool-toned skittle look coming up (in my mind, anyway).  So much playing to do...

Aren't they just gorgeous?  What do you think of them compared to Enchanted Polish holos?  I think EP has some unique shades, but CbL has EP beat for the holo factor, bar none!

Zoya Yara

This is my second bottle of Zoya Yara.  No, I did not finish my first; I sold it because I found the glitter looked flat on my nails and not as gorgeously sparkly as it appeared in the bottle.  Well, I spied this in the 50% off pile in Trade Secrets a month ago and since I love my 'army' greens, I thought I would give it another chance.  I am glad I did!  I love the golden iridescent glitter in Yara.  Two wonderful coats and a coat of Wicked Fast were all it took to produce those pretty glints.  I think the topcoat makes all the difference in bringing out the gold.

*Please excuse the colour saturation on this; it was taken with my phone!*

*le sigh*  That is all.  :)

Illamasqua Facet ... again!

Someone called these my 'party nails' and I'd have to agree!  They're bright and cheery, but there's a bit of shimmery sophistication in there as well.  I loooove the murky golden-shimmered taupe of Facet; it is gorgeous.  That's all I can say, gorgeous!!
I thought I'd mix it up a bit and add a few pops of colour with Orly Terracotta and Cult Nails Nakizzle's Shizzle and I think the coral and periwinkle blue really go well with Facet.  Who woulda thunk?
All nails were two coats and applied nicely.  Terracotta stained my nails slightly, but it was so pigmented that I forgive it (usually the corals I love are on the sheer side).

What other colours would go well with Facet?  Olive green and black?  *drools thinking about it*

Rescue Beauty Lounge Jack/Locavore

Today we have the lovely Rescue Beauty Lounge Jack, paired with accents of Rescue Beauty Lounge Locavore and Illamasqua Gothiqua.  The dusty blue-shimmered teal pairs nicely with the maroon purple; both of them have hidden shimmer which is much more apparent in the bottle than on the nails. That would be the lone drawback, though, as both polishes applied smoothly in two coats.  Rescue Beauty Lounge Locavore is comprised of gold, green, blue and pink glitter and matched the other polishes nicely.  Two coats of Locavore covered my nail adequately, but one more coat would have provided full opacity.  Oh well, it is gorgeous!

A blurry macro of the blue shimmer in RBL Jack

On the whole, I like this mani, but I was a bit disappointed with the lack of shimmer in all but bright lights.
