Gosh Galaxy and Finger Paints Peacock's Portrait

I purchased Gosh Galaxy a while ago for someone in the US and I really didn't understand why people were clamoring to obtain this polish.  Fast forward to a year later and here I am professing my love for Galaxy!  I saw it on sale at my local Shoppers Drug Mart and thought that I could add it to my swap list, but ended up trying it on and loving it.  It's in the same vein as Chanel Graphite and OPI Number One Nemesis but darker, I think, and with a smattering of blue glitter.  I'll definitely have to do a comparison of these three in the future as I can't think of all the differences offhand.  I've come to love these types of polishes (large shimmer? small glitter? foil? metallic?) and can't wait to add other colours to my collection.

I painted two coats of Galaxy and one coat of Wicked Fast and then decided to jazz up my pinky with Finger Paints Peacock's Portrait because, well, why not?  You can't really tell there is a glitter topper unless you look closely, but it sparkles nicely in the sun.  PP consists of large turquoise holo hexes and smaller multicoloured holo glitter ~ blue, purple and green, I believe, like a (duh) peacock.  I think she'd really shine over a dark creme.

Finger Paints Peacock's Portrait over Gosh Galaxy...and a zucchini!  It was the closest prop.  :)

If you'd like to see PP over black and a bottle shot, head on over here.  Ain't she purdy?

My Two Favourite Cult Nails Polishes

You know I love a polish when I've already posted about it on the blog!  I paired up Cult Manipulative with Cult Scandalous here and now I thought I'd add my other favourite Cult polish - My Kind of Kool Aid.  Actually, Manipulative and Kool Aid are probably my favourite purple and aqua polishes period.  Both are cremes with delicate iridescent shimmer and covered beautifully in two coats.  I think these two colours would look smashing on all skin tones!  Luckily, I have backups of both as Manipulative is discontinued and My Kind of Kool Aid was for a short while.

:)  Click on the pics to see the subtle, yet beautiful shimmer. *sigh*

I realized that my mani matched my son's juice cup!

Aren't these the most wonderful colours together?  What are your favourite combos?

China Glaze Fast Track and White Cap

I thought that China Glaze Fast Track and White Cap would go well together as they both contain the beautiful green-to-golden glass fleck shimmer.  They both applied nicely, though I used three coats for opacity for White Cap while Fast Track only needed two.  I've read that people like to layer White Cap over other polishes, but I prefer it by itself.   It's been on my toes for the past few weeks and is beautifully sparkly in the summer sun.

And since I've been so tardy in posting lately, here is a bonus manicure using two of my favourite colours - teal and olive.  I love how this turned out, especially considering it was one of those spur-of-the-moment manis.  All nails were two coats (except for Bluey, which was three) and applied without a problem, but, unfortunately, My Personal Serpent stained.  :

I can't help it; I just can't wear one polish at a time.  :)
