Graphite...finally!

I have to admit that I never used to like foil polishes, until I came across the long-discontinued Chanel Graphite.  Sparkly but not streaky, golden olive and smooth, it looked so beautiful in pictures that I had to have it.  I finally managed to find someone who would swap hers and I jumped on the chance.  I am glad that I did as it is everything I thought it would be.  In fact, Graphite has ignited a love of foil polishes and has caused me to purchase more.  Do I smell a comparison post in the future?...

I wanted to preserve Graphite as I know I`ll use it a lot in the future, so I thought that a few polishes from the Essie Fall 2013 collection would go well with it, along with Cult Nails Faded. All of the polishes are two well-behaved coats, plus one coat of Wicked Fast to enhance the shine.  I love this neutral ombre mani; I`m not one to always wear seasonal polish and this really fit the bill in the midst of flaming bright neon manis!

I can`t wait to pull out more autumn polishes and mix them with some brights!

Summer Skittle mani

My problem with having a backlog of mani photos is that I don't write down the names of the polishes as I assume I will remember them.  This is not the case today!  I don't remember which purple I used.  To be honest, I'm not 100% sure that the blue is Slushied either... :O
Regardless, this is a fun summertime mani and I had fun choosing the colours.  I think I would prefer it without the holo glitter next time though; it's a bit much.
All of the colours were two-coaters (even Dandy Lion) and one coat of glitter!  I'm not a big yellow polish fan, as I have a lot of yellow in my skin tone, but this one is very pretty.  I can see myself using it a lot as an accent colour.

OPI Number One Nemesis/Sephora by OPI My Personal Serpent

I purchased OPI Number One Nemesis last year and only just got around to wearing it now!  It's too bad that I waited so long as this golden olive foil (glitter? large shimmer?) is beautiful.  I used three coats for opacity, but I would definitely layer it next time to preserve it.  It's fairly similar to Chanel Graphite and I actually compared the two when I removed this mani, but failed to take photos. :(
I love the combination of olive and teal, so the deep teal of Sephora by OPI My Personal Serpent served as a great mani base.  Almost a one-coater, I used two coats out of habit.  I topped it with a coat of China Glaze Techno and I think my nails looked like a twinkling night sky.
I have to admit, I love this mani!  The only downside is that SOPI MPS slightly stained my nails.  I have to try it with a base coat before I purge it, though!

Semi Skittles

Wow, it's been quite a while since I last posted.  I've been collecting mani photos, just not posting them regularly.  I guess it doesn't really matter though, as I doubt many people actually read my blog.  :)
To celebrate summer I thought I would *finally* use my Rescue Beauty Lounge Bella as the base for this manicure.  Three thin coats of white jelly goodness was not enough for me though; I added a coat of Cirque XX on my index and middle fingers and a holographic topcoat (don't remember which one) on my thumb.  I added two thin coats of Bella over the Cirque holo glitter and love how it turned out.
As I loved the subtle holo glitter, I decided my next mani should also include them.   I painted the other three fingers pink, teal and blue, to match the glitter.  It's cute, but I do prefer the first mani better.

I love these colours together ~ so fresh and springlike (though it's summer)!
