Layla Misty Blush

Layla Misty Blush is a brownish purple holographic polish, another in-your-face holo stunner from Italian brand Layla.  I've had my eye on this and Coffee Love for a while and I glad I was able to get hold of them.
One drawback of Misty Blush is that I had to use three coats for opacity, but I found a few polishes that would work as undies, so that problem is fixed.  Another drawback, though, is that it chipped quickly.  I'm hoping that wearing it over undies will prevent it from chipping.

Or maybe Nfu Oh Aqua Base will help?  I never remember to reach for it...

Bling on my Ring (finger)

I couldn't wait to try out my two newest Essie polishes together and once I had them in my hands ready to go, I thought that Illamasqua Jan would go well with the turquoise Where's My Chauffeur and the silvery gold Beyond Cozy.  I don't always like the look of more than one accent finger, but I like the bright, soft and glittery combination here.  :)
If I remember correctly, all of the polishes were two coats, which is pretty amazing for the glittery goodness of Beyond Cozy.  I barely had any cleanup to do, as well.   Unfortunately, I was so impatient to try out other polishes that I started removing the polish on my photo hand and thus had to quickly snap my right hand before I forgot.  Hello awkward hand pose!

What do you think of this colour combo?  Do you have any dupes for Where's my Chauffeur?  I do not (the closest being Orly Frolic) and I am happy to say that this is THE perfect turquoise for me.  I love it!

Misa Well-Heeled Grey

From Misa's current High Society collection, here is Well-Heeled Grey.  It's beautiful; I love it.  WHG is a purplish-grey shimmer that applies very smoothly in two coats.  I've heard it's similar to Chanel Paradoxal, but I wouldn't know as I've never seen Paradoxal in person.

What do you think?  Is it similar to Paradoxal or does it stand on it's own?  I must say that I do love the rich and pigmented Misa formula, so I wouldn't mind Misa duping more high-end HTF polishes.  I also picked up Bourbon on the Rocks and while it seems to be a dupe for OPI Germanicure, from a quick swatch it looked to be a tad more rust-leaning.  That is another post, though. :)

OPI Let's go to Rotterdam and eat some herring!

I've seen OPI I Don't Give a Rotterdam and I Have a Herring Problem on blogs and in person time and time again, and they've never called out to me.  However, I spied them marked for clearance at my local Trade Secrets and the lighting in that store is such that it makes polishes so sparkly and inviting.  I scooped them up and set out to try them at once.  I couldn't decide which one to try first since they are very similar, so I tried them both.
Rotterdam and Herring Problem are both blue cremes with fine gold/silver/at times multi-coloured glitter.  The difference is that Rotterdam is a faded periwinkle blue (cool toned) while Herring Problem is a slightly darker faded teal blue (warm toned).  The difference is easier to spot on the nail, not in the bottle.
As I did this mani a few weeks ago, I don't exactly remember how many coats I used ~ either 2 or 3.  Application was good and the polish dried fairly quickly and smoothly.
Normally I'm not fond of gold shimmer, but it just seems to work with these polishes. :)

I prefer the warmer toned Herring Problem.  What about you??

Glitter Gal Nude

Quickie post; I am very tired but wanted to post this as I haven't written in quite a while!
I bit the bullet and bought some of the new Glitter Gal holos, Nude being one of the most coveted ones for me.  There's just something about a neutral polish that sparkles like crazy in the sun.
I painted two coats over a sheer pink treatment, so I think that has caused the polish to appear pinkish, as opposed to beige.  Oh well, I will just have to do another post with Nude by itself. :)

Excuse the non-bottle pic.  I just love the mustard colour of my sweater and was also too lazy to go fetch the bottle.  C'est la vie.  :)
