OPI Germanicure/BB Couture Sloth

Here is the second polish I chose from the OPI Germany Collection ~ Germanicure.  It's also a beautiful blackened shimmer, but unlike the purplish red of Every Month of Oktoberfest, this shimmer is reddish-brown.  It is similar to OPI Midnight in Moscow, but lighter and more glowing.
Shown is two coats; I don't remember if I used topcoat, but it probably didn't need it.  :)

After a day or so of wear, I decided to refresh the mani with one coat of BB Couture Sloth.  Sloth is a dark brown shimmer with hints of tiny red glitter peeking out ~ so pretty!  I love my BBs; I just never get around to finally trying them out! :)

What are your favourite vampy colours - red, purple, brown?

OPI Every Month is Oktoberfest

This is one of the polishes I picked up from OPI's Germany collection and it is a stunner ~ Every Month is Oktoberfest.  A vampy purple shimmer with a blue base (!), some have likened it to Fantasy Fire, without the duochrome aspect.  I don't know whether I'd agree with that, but it sure is stunning.  It's similar to OPI Black Cherry Chutney, but a bit lighter and more glowing.
Shown is two coats with one coat of topcoat to make it extra shiny.

I've read that some people do not see the difference between Every Month is Oktoberfest and Germanicure, so I did a quick photo comparison.  Oktoberfest, on the left, is clearly purplish-red, while Germanicure, on the right, is clearly reddish-brown.  I'd be hard pressed to choose one vampy over the other.  How about you?

American Apparel 7th and Alameda

Quickie today!  Scored American Apparel 7th and Alameda from a blog sale and I'm glad I did.  Two coats of this grey creme provided full opacity and a nice shine.  Am I nuts or do I see a bit of purple in there?  I think I'll be reaching for this a lot. :)  I have a few other AA polishes (Army Jacket, McArthur Park, Dynasty) that are just sitting there untried; now I think I might have to try all of them. If the duration of this polish is as good as the application, sign me up for more! :)

Excuse the polish on the side of my nails.  It would not come off!
*edit*
I wore this polish for less than two days and all my fingers chipped!  As I've said before, I don't mind tipwear, but chips drive me crazy!  I used a topcoat, but even before I put that on, one of the nails had already chipped.  I will try again with basecoat; I really want this brand to be great...

OPI DS Original

Instead of taking off my last mani (Glitter Gal Fuschia), I just painted two coats of OPI DS Original over it.  Lazy, I know, but what's a busy mom to do?  ;)
Original is a beautiful violet linear holographic polish and 2 coats seemed to do the trick for opacity.  Of course, if you wanted to preserve this liquid gold, your best bet would be to layer it over a violet creme.
Isn't she a beauty?  Excuse the scratch on my middle finger; that is not a beauty.  :)
